About PetKiddies

Pet care guidance built from veterinary sources and long-term owner reports — cited, so you can check every claim yourself.

Who we are

A research site, not a testing lab

PetKiddies is a pet care research site covering dogs and cats from their first week to their last years, with most of our library devoted to senior care.

Being straightforward about what we are: we are not veterinarians, and we do not lab-test products. What we do is read the research and the long-term owner reports, then set out plainly what they say — and where the evidence is thin, we say that too.

How we work

Sourced, not asserted

Every recommendation traces back to something you can click: published testing with a stated method, guidance from veterinary bodies such as the RVC, AVMA, AAHA and WSAVA, or recurring themes across long-term owner reports.

Where a claim is contested — and in pet health plenty are — we say so rather than picking the tidier answer.

Our method

How a guide gets written

1

Start with the evidence

Veterinary guidelines and peer-reviewed research first, independent testing second. We read the primary source rather than someone’s summary of it.

2

Find what owners actually report

The recurring complaint that never appears in marketing — the buckle that fails at eighteen months, the sizing that runs small — usually only shows up in long-term owner discussion.

3

Say who it is wrong for

Every product recommendation names the situation where it is the wrong choice. A guide that likes everything is not a guide.

Where we stand

Affiliate links don’t buy our opinions

Some links on this site are affiliate links, disclosed on every page that carries them. We are never paid for placement, and no brand sees an article before it publishes.

When the best option is one we earn nothing from, we say so. Our cooling vest guide leads with a product that isn’t sold on Amazon at all.

The dogs who taught us this

Everything on this site exists because of them. They are the reason we care whether the advice is right.
