Who We Are
PetKiddies is a hands-on pet care review site founded in 2019, now revitalized in 2026 with a renewed focus on honest, evidence-based advice for dog and cat parents. We’ve been testing and reviewing pet products since 2019 — back when the original PetKiddies was a small e-commerce shop selling pet harnesses, beds, and travel gear. Today, we’re a content-first site focused on what works.
What We Believe
- Hands-on testing beats desk research. Every product we recommend has been used by us, our testers, or our network of pet owners for at least 4 weeks.
- Affiliate links should not buy our opinions. We only recommend products we’d buy with our own money. If we don’t like something, we say so — even if it means lower affiliate revenue.
- Vet input matters. For every health, nutrition, or medical claim we make, we cite a source. Where possible, we have our articles reviewed by a licensed veterinarian.
- The best pet product is the one that fits your specific pet. There are no universal “best” products. We help you understand what to look for so you can make the right call for your dog or cat.
How We Test
For product reviews, we follow a four-step process:
- Independent purchase. We buy the products ourselves, or accept them from manufacturers with no obligation to review. If a product is PR-supplied, we disclose that prominently in the article.
- Multi-tester panel. Where possible, we send products to 3-5 testers in the appropriate target audience (e.g., a senior dog owner for a senior dog bed review).
- Minimum 4-week testing period. We don’t publish a review after a single use. We use the product long enough to know its real strengths and weaknesses.
- Quantitative scoring. We score each product on the same 5-criteria rubric (e.g., for dog beds: comfort, durability, washability, value, design). Scores are visible in every review.
Our Editorial Independence
PetKiddies is reader-supported through affiliate links. When you buy a product through one of our links, we may earn a small commission at no cost to you. This is how the site stays free. Affiliate partnerships never influence our reviews. We’ve turned down offers from brands whose products we couldn’t honestly recommend, and we’ll continue to.
